National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC)
On 20 May 2020, a videoconference meeting was held between the managerial staff of the State Examination Center and the National Assessment and Examination Center of Georgia, and the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
SEC and NAEC cooperated in the following areas in 2020:
- Improvement of the test tasks used in the final exams for the 9th and 11th grade levels on the Georgian language;
- Development of tasks used in the Teachers professional qualification exam for teachers of Azerbaijani language and literature working in Georgian schools;
- Improvement of the mathematical and verbal logic tests of NAEC translated into Azerbaijani language;
- Assistance in selecting an employee to translate the mathematical and verbal logic tests into Azerbaijani language.
The Memorandum, updated for 2021, reflects the following areas of mutual cooperation:
- Review and improvement of the item bank used by SEC for the final exams in the Georgian language (9th and 11th grade levels) by the experts of NAEC;
- Preparation of item bank for the Teachers professional qualification exam for teachers of Azerbaijani language and literature working in Georgian schools with the assistance of SEC.
The application of the assessment tool with the support of SEC on the Teachers professional qualification exam for teachers of Azerbaijani language and literature working in the secondary schools of Georgia, where the language of instruction is Azerbaijani, is used to determine the differential salaries during the attestation of teachers of Azerbaijani language and literature.
