On June 11, as part of her visit to London, Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairperson of the Board of the State Examination Center (SEC), met with representatives of Cambridge University Press & Assessment and the Secretariat of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
During the meeting with Cambridge University Press & Assessment (https://www.cambridge.org), strategic priorities in the field of assessment, psychometrics, training of specialists in educational measurement and assessment, development of AI-based test items, and professional development programs for leadership were discussed. Additionally, a comparative analysis of the SEC's mathematics exams with the A-Level mathematics qualification and the assessment of English language exams were in focus. The parties reviewed opportunities for technical support, institutional development, and the implementation of pilot projects within the framework of cooperation.
In the meeting with the ALTE Secretariat (https://www.alte.org), discussions were held on cooperation in the field of language proficiency assessment, the improvement of the Azerbaijani Language Certification Exam and its application in the civil service, as well as the requirements and opportunities for obtaining the "Q Mark" quality label for these exams. Furthermore, the digitalization of the item development process in language exams and the application of international assessment criteria were discussed. ALTE representatives also provided information on the organization's areas of activity and cooperation models with member institutions. During the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on the framework of future cooperation, potential partnership directions, and next steps.
