On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the State Examination Centre, the next practical training sessions were held ahead of the international scientific and practical conference on "Assessment Systems: Trust, Transparency and Innovation".
The practical training session on competency-based assessment methods: Simulation games and interviews with the STAR method was presented by Javid Aliyev, leading consultant of the Competency and Professional Potential Assessment Department of the State Examination Centre.
The main goal of the seminar was to familiarize the participants with modern assessment methods and to form their skills in the practical use of these methods.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to the essence, application areas and methodology of simulation assessment methods and learned how behavior is assessed based on modeling real work situations.
Throughout the workshop, participants not only gained theoretical knowledge, but also experienced the real assessment process by acting as assessors. In this context, they developed their skills in observing, taking notes, using assessment scales and justifying their decisions based on behavioral indicators.
Within the framework of the workshop, participants observed and assessed the decision-making and mutual cooperation processes in situations appropriate to the real work environment through role-playing games. In this process, participants became practically familiar with the organization of simulation tasks and their effective use as an assessment tool.
In addition, through practical exercises on the application of the STAR interview method, participants developed their skills in structured assessment of responses based on real experience.
Another workshop was held on the topic of “Digitalization of assessment processes on the example of emotional intelligence”. The seminar was conducted by Gulmira Isayeva, Head of the Electronic Examinations Organization Unit of the State Examination Centre, and Sevinj Mammadova, Senior Consultant of the Competencies and Professional Potential Assessment Department.
The main goal of the session was to understand the impact of emotions on the discussion and decision-making process, to strengthen the participants' skills in understanding and managing their own emotional reactions, as well as to develop the skills of establishing effective communication and interaction within the team.
During the workshop, participants experienced the decision-making process within a team in a situation close to the real work environment. The task required participants to make a decision by choosing between alternative directions within limited resources and time. Over the course of the the process, disagreements, uncertainties and psychological nuances were assessed through observation and other tools.
The workshop aimed to develop the emotional intelligence skills of the participants through real professional situations and to gain experience in 360-degree internal assessment.
In the reflection and mutual feedback session held after the practical phase, the participants analyzed their behavior and assessed the impact of emotions on decision-making. At this stage, the participants shared their observations and identified more balanced and effective behavioral strategies. At the same time, the 360-degree internal assessment approach applied within the workshop provided the participants with the opportunity to exchange mutual opinions and understand the impact of behaviors within the team more deeply.
At the end of both workshops, participants were presented with certificates.
It should be noted that today, practical training was held at the State Examination Center in 7 different areas. During the 10 years of activity of the State Examination Center, improving assessment processes, developing human resources and applying innovative approaches have been one of the main priority areas. Such interactive and experience-based events ensure the continuity of the work carried out in this direction.
It It must be highlighted that the official opening ceremony of the conference will be held tomorrow at 10:00 at the “Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard”.
