Vafadar Misirov, the Executive Director of the State Examination Center (SEC) and member of the Learning Alliance on Transformation and Innovations in Governance established by the Astana Civil Service Hub, gave a lecture on “Motivation and meritocracy in civil service” at the online event of Turkistan Public Administration Summer School on 18 August 2021, at the invitation of the Astana Civil Service Hub (Regional Hub) and Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University situated in Turkistan city of Kazakhstan.
The Executive Director talked about the ways of motivation development in the civil service system and the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of application of meritocracy principle, as well as provided the audience with detailed information about the activities of SEC, and answered the questions.
The event, aiming at the exchange of knowledge and practice in the field of public administration, continued with the discussions by the experts on civil service from the countries such as North Korea, Macedonia, Georgia, Turkey on “Post COVID-19 period”, “Digitalization and electronic government”, “Gender equality” and other topics.
To note that the Astana Regional Hub has been established in 2013 with the participation of Azerbaijan as a member state, plays a significant role in strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the countries in the field of civil service, and conducts the exchange of practice to promote the civil service systems.
