As it is known, in accordance with the Resolution №237 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 22 May 2019 on the approval of “Rules regarding the organization of the process for issuing a certificate in professional accounting (CPA), the conduct of exams, and the state registry of professionally certified accountants, the State Examination Center (SEC) organizes the process for issuing a certificate in professional accounting and conducts exams thereof.
The exams are conducted for issuing the certificates specified below.
1. CPA on International Financial Reporting Standards for Small- and Medium-sized Entities;
2. CPA on International Financial Reporting Standards;
3. International Public Sector Accounting Standards – CPA Level 1 and Level 2.

The exams will consist of 2 stages: the first stage contains the questions on accounting, the second stage contains the questions on legislation.
With the aim of help to the candidates preparing for the examinations, the SEC will carry out mock examinations on the first stage of the exam, namely accounting, in accordance with the main exam model.
First of all, the mock examination will be conducted for the candidates wishing to get the CPA (Certificate in Professional Accounting) Level 1 and Level 2 on International Public Sector Accounting Standards.
Candidates applying for a local certificate in professional accounting are exempted from the first stage of the examination if they have any of the following certificates issued by corresponding certification bodies:

The cost to take a mock examination is 40 AZN.
The exam duration is 3 hours and the candidates’ knowledge will be tested with 40 questions.
Registration process for the mock examination starts on 22 January 2021 and ends on 08 February 2021 and will be available through the website of SEC.
The mock examination will be held on 21 February 2021.
Attention: the date of the exam is subject to change depending on the decisions of the Task Force of the Cabinet of Ministers. The candidates are recommended to regularly visit the SEC’s official website.
The exam will be conducted, by taking into account the number of participants and existing sanitary-epidemiological situation, either with pen and paper exam method, or in an electronic format through the computers in special exam halls, or in a proctoring format (conduct of examination based on the distant observation and control) with the help of special software.
In case if the examination will be conducted in an electronic format, it will be held at the SEC building situated on 28 Abdulvahab Salamzade Str, Nasimi district (previously, the building of Baku Asia University) for Baku city, and at the SEC regional branches for the regions. If the examination will be conducted in a proctoring format, the candidate will take an exam by using his/her personal computer (or notebook) at home or office. The link to download the software will be provided on SEC’s website.
If the examination will be held with the pen and paper method, the candidate should participate at the exam having regarded the time and venue indicated on the paper for permission to take part in an exam.
Following the registration process, the information on the form of examination will be announced.
