Trainings on "Gender equality in the civil service: current situation and challenges" are being organized by the State Examination Center, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, and the German Society for International Cooperation (GiZ) from October 11, 2021.
The trainings will be held on October 11-18 for employees of central executive bodies.
The training, held on October 11, was attended by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as well as government agencies under the ministries and officials of public services on gender issues.
Deputy Chairperson of the SEC’s Board of Directors Bahram Khalilov in his opening speech informed participants about the purpose of the training, the essence, and content of the Curriculum on Gender Equality in the Civil Service, as well as issues of ensuring gender equality in the civil service.
Elgun Safarov, Deputy Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, made a presentation on "Ensuring Gender Equality and Combating Stereotypes" and spoke about the negative effects of gender stereotypes on individuals and society and ways to avoid them.
Vugar Asgarov, Head of the Department of Legal Support and Civil Service of the SEC, made a presentation on "Gender equality in public administration: international obligations and national norms." The participants were informed about the measures taken to improve the legislation, the role of gender equality in public policy, and the state's international commitments on gender equality.
Also, Elnur Abbasov, the head of the unit at the SEC, made presentations on “General Information on Gender Equality in the Civil Service”, “Civil Service Recruitment Mechanisms and Gender Equality in the Civil Service” and “Gender Equality in Civil Service Promotion and Talent Pool Management”. During the speech, detailed information was provided on the Curriculum on Gender Equality in the Civil Service, practical aspects of gender equality in the civil service, and application mechanisms for achieving gender equality were touched upon.
At the end of the training, topical issues on gender equality in the civil service were discussed and certificates will be presented to the participants.
It should be noted that the trainings are also planned for representatives of higher education institutions and the judiciary.
