Founded in Heidelberg in 1925, DAAD is a joint organization of German universities for the international exchange of students and researchers. The German Academic Exchange Service is the largest German organization providing the funding for international high school cooperation.
SEC has been collaborating with the DAAD office in Azerbaijan since 2021. As a result of the collaboration, the project titled “Improvement of German language assessment tools” was implemented. Within the framework of the project, a training program consisting of 10 sessions was organized from February 24 to April 1, 2021. The participants of the training program gained the knowledge and skills on the following topics:
- Theoretical concepts in the assessment of language skills;
- Application of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to the assessment of language skills;
- Assessment of grammar and vocabulary;
- Assessment of reading, listening, writing, and speaking over different CEFR levels.
The trainer for the project “Improvement of German language assessment tools” was Anna Soltyska, a language assessment specialist and teacher at the Ruhr University in Germany. The training was also attended by the German language teachers from various secondary and higher education institutions. The SEC collaborates with participants who were selected through the competition and successfully completed the training to develop German language assessment materials.
