The initiative to establish the Astana Regional Hub of Civil Service (Regional Hub) was put forward by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and the United Nations Development Program. The founding conference of the Regional Hub was held on 15 March 2013. The Republic of Azerbaijan was also represented among the founders of the Regional Hub.
The main goal of establishing a Regional Hub is to form an institutional network that provides for continuous exchange of knowledge and experience between the countries of the region, with the participation of international organizations.
The main activity directions of the Regional Hub are:
- Analysis civil service reforms implemented in the countries of the region;
- Increase of the capacity of professional networks and strengthening cooperation;
- Establishment of opportunities and an institutional platform for the regular exchange of progressive practices;
- Implementation of joint programs, projects and other events;
- Improvement of the quality of civil service systems and services provided to citizens in the region.
The State Examination Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan closely collaborates with the Regional Hub, and the Chairperson of the SEC Board of Directors is a member of the Hub's Board of Directors.
